BUCK'S PLACE

Buck Owens died in his sleep on March 25, 2006, only hours after performing at his Crystal Palace restaurant, club and museum in Bakersfield, California.  Buck Owens was laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery, Bakersfield, California.  There were more than 2,000 mourners who turned out to pay their respects to the Country Music Hall of Famer as he was memorialized in his adopted hometown of Bakersfield.

Buck Owens will forever rest peacefully in the Buck Owens family mausoleum.  The front of the mausoleum is inscribed "The Buck Owens Family" with the word's "Buck's Place" beneath.  His first wife, country singer Bonnie Owens, died in April of the same year that Buck Owens' died.  Upon her death she was cremated and the urn placed in the Buck Owens mausoleum.

We thank Buck for all his support and friendship while he was here with us.  He gave us an opportunity of a life time to be part of his world.  It was an honor to have met him and perform on the same stage at the Crystal Palace.  We will always keep the Bakersfield sound alive that he created and maintain the level of musicianship that he would expect.  Buck Owens was a great man who is loved by many and will be spoken of for generations to come.  Thank you Buck for the great Crystal Palace.  The Grand Ole Opry of the west coast.
